Wangee Park School provides opportunities for all students to participate in integration activities in local schools and into the local community.
Students at Wangee Park School enjoy regular opportunities to participate in the Creative Arts. The school has developed a well resourced Creative Arts Program, incorporating a Specialty Art Room, an extensive collection of percussion instruments, participation at weekly assemblies, performances from the Musica Viva Program, and visits to concerts.
Wangee Park School has a well resourced student library, with a collection of fiction and non fiction books to support learning in the classroom and provide enjoyable leisure opportunities.
Wangee Park School has a fulltime Community Languages Teacher to support students whose first language is not English. While the teaching position is specifically for Students with Arabic as their first language, the Community Languages Program at Wangee Park emphasises awareness and respect for all languages and provides resources and enrichment experiences for all students in Languages Other than English.
Wangee Park School participates in a program with Wiley Park Girls' High school of Peer Tutors, a program that enables students from our school to interact with high school students from their local area. Peer tutors often share the same cultural background as our students, facilitating an environment that fosters communication and greater community involvement.
Wangee Park School has been targeted for the Priority School Funding Program for the last 10 years. Our school has been able to enhance student's communication skill development and develop programs to support and encourage this as well.
